Municipalities

The "Bike Friendly Destinations" network in Greece consists of a number of selected Municipalities which stand out for their commitment to environmental protection, their efforts for sustainable tourism development and their dedication to the tourist-cyclist.

The network municipalities-members meet a minimum set of criteria according to international standards and make every effort to make the cyclist-tourist stay as comfortable as possible. At the same time they create a 'cycling identity' at the destination, making it easier for tourists as well as citizens to use the bike either during their holidays or in their daily lives.
