Rethymno ‘s old city is located beneath the walls of its sleepless guard the Venetian Fortezza which was built in the 14^th Century and preserves a vivid medieval renaissance feeling.

The cycling network in Rethymno prefecture includes 22 inter-regional cycling routes, 12 of them connect Rethymno with key attractions nearby.

There are numerous options offered inside the city and the Old town, as well as in the countryside.
